Embedded Hardware Engineer

About the Role

For one of our clients, a global technology leader, we are looking for an Embedded Hardware Engineer to join their growing team. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded systems, contributing to hardware design, development, and optimization. The position involves schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and testing to ensure high-performance hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware solutions for embedded systems, including circuit schematics and PCB layouts.
• Select components while ensuring cost, performance, and reliability compliance.
• Prepare and review hardware specifications, schematics, and design documentation.
• Perform board bring-up, debugging, and validation of embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, and mechanical teams for seamless integration.
• Conduct signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis for optimized designs.
• Work with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT).
• Support regulatory compliance testing (FCC, CE, RoHS, etc.).
• Troubleshoot hardware-related issues and propose design improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in embedded hardware design (open to experienced professionals and fresh graduates with relevant coursework/projects).
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using tools like Pulsonix, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, or KiCad.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, memory interfaces, power management, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.).
• Familiarity with high-speed design, EMI/EMC considerations, and thermal management.
• Experience with hardware validation, manufacturing processes, and certification compliance.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RF design and wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, etc.).
• Knowledge of low-power embedded systems and battery-operated devices.
• Understanding of firmware development for hardware bring-up and testing.
