Business Meeting “Bulgaria meets Indonesia: Import of Workforce”

On the 13th of May, a special business meeting titled "Bulgaria Meets Indonesia: Workforce Import Solutions" was held at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia, organised by Manpower Bulgaria, in partnership with Binamandiri and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.

The event focused on the opportunities for importing qualified and unqualified workers from Indonesia, as a means to address the labour shortage across various sectors in Bulgaria.

During the meeting, Ivan Sherbanov, CEO of Manpower Bulgaria, presented the current needs of the local labour market, while Karnaka, Director of PT Binamandiri Jaya, outlined the benefits of hiring workers from Indonesia. In the presence of Irvan Fakhrizal, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bulgaria, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Manpower Bulgaria and PT Binamandiri. This agreement marks the beginning of a process to recruit, prepare and deploy up to 1,000 Indonesian workers for the Bulgarian labour market.

Manpower Bulgaria will coordinate the entire process with local employers, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, including the preparation of all necessary documentation, employment contracts, and work permits.

The event welcomed representatives from over 60 companies, highlighting the strong interest of Bulgarian employers in new opportunities and workforce solutions. Participants learned more about current trends in the Indonesian labour market and the practical steps involved in recruiting and integrating personnel from Indonesia. They also gained valuable insights into Indonesian culture, workers' expectations, and how to effectively support the adaptation of foreign employees to local norms and company processes.

Special guest of the event was Petar Andonov, former Ambassador of Bulgaria to Indonesia.

We would also like to thank our partners Educational centre Kristina Progress for taking part in the event. Together we share a common mission - to help international professionals integrate into Bulgarian companies with confidence and ease.

The meeting served as a valuable opportunity for idea exchange, cross-cultural understanding, and marked a strong beginning of a strategic collaboration between the two countries. Through this partnership, Manpower Bulgaria reaffirms its commitment to providing effective, sustainable solutions that meet the real needs of businesses in Bulgaria.
